When you are out on the water this holiday weekend, please think before you drink and drive a boat. Alot of people who wouldn’t think of drinking and driving feel it’s perfectly okay to do it out on the water. Last week some idiot with a very fast boat got thrown with his passengers from the boat while making a turn that the boat shouldn’t be asked to do. He didn’t have a lanyard kill switch attached to his person. The boat kept circling the boaters with the engine running, prop in the water. They were lucky they didn’t get killed or kill someone else. Rescuers from two towns had to throw ropes to entangle the prop and stop the engine. This particular lake is known as a party lake. Too bad this guys party could have concluded with going to the morgue to identify a friend or family member. It’s NOT COOL. YOU LOOK LIKE A JACKASS,and NOONE thinks you are FUNNY!

Some people are under the impression that you have to be rich, or a tree hugger to be green. I’m not suggesting that you live in a dirt house, sell your car and go dumpster diving. Trust me- I’m not! It is pretty easy to save some serious money with just a few minor changes.

First of all, try to change out your lightbulbs for the new style bulbs. Don’t throw out your old ones to replace them-wait until they die and replace them then. Why throw away something that is still working?That would not be too green. Right on the box it tells you how much watts it uses and how much light it throws out.It is easy and a good energy saver. For those of you with odd kinds of bulbs, companies are constantly coming out with new replacements, like for chandeliers and floodlights and pot lights.

Another easy way to save money while helping the environment, is in the way you cut the lawn. Raise the mower cutting height one inch and you won’t have to water nearly as much. I also have a mulching  mower. If you already have a regular mower, you can get replacement blades that cut up the clippings fine. they fall into the grass and melt into the soil, fertilizing it for free. I never have put out a bag of clipping ever! My parents used this method so it was second nature. Imagine how many bags would stay out of the dump if everyone did this. So I don’t rake(less work), buy less garbage bags($$$), fertilize grass for free($$$,TIME), use less water($$$)and it’s good for the planet! My next step will be to get an electric model.

This is all new to me. I have never written for anyone other than myself or for school. That was a LONG time ago, so I may be a little rusty. I made a mistake yesterday and posted a blank page. Not the way I wanted to showcase my talents. My dad used to tell me to get off my soapbox when we were debating something at the kitchen table. He never dreamed spouting off could be profitable. He just thoght he had another daughter with a big mouth and a lot of opinions! If anyone knows of other opportunities like this one, please contact me on the forum. I’m partially disabled and am eager to work and not just sit around playing games and watching too much tv. Hope this edit is better than the blank stare I gave yesterday!
